06 - Ceramics in the butcher's shop
The owners of this, one of the oldest butchers in Pesaro, are so passionate about ceramics and art that they have frequented artists, purchased works (not only ceramics): they have frequented the artistic environment of Pesaro and followed the glories of the masters. They had a special bond with the Lani brothers, so much so that they welcomed three large works into the butcher's shop, which they proudly display and which they neither lend nor sell.
They assure that at home they have many more pieces, not only by Lani.
You meet truly special collectors around the city.
The two collectors tell of places that are difficult to track down today, such as the laboratory right next to their butcher's shop of Alessandro Giardini from Pesaro who in 1955 founded, assisted by his father Amintore, already a modeler for the Molaroni company in Pesaro, a factory of artistic ceramics called Giardini Ceramiche.
In the company's laboratories, in Corso XI Settembre in Pesaro, they produced, with the collaboration of a group of high-level painters and decorators including Antonio Lani and Anna Rosa Basile, polychrome ceramics in the classic historiated and Raphaelesque style as well as modern-style ceramics. But art enthusiasts and butchers also follow the vicissitudes of the artists they know and they themselves confirmed to us that the ceramic fountain located outside the Hotel Clipper, mentioned in stage 20, is also by Lani.
